Indonesia’s capital Jakarta hosted the 2023 IFSC Climbing World Cup Jakarta speed event from May 6-7, 2023. Many professional speed climbers, including Indonesian natives Raharjati Nursamsa, Kiromal Katibin, and Veddriq Leonardo, competed to get on the podium at the 2nd speed competition of the 2023 season. Highlights from Climbing World Cup Jakarta

  • For the women’s speed, Poland’s Aleksandra Miroslaw took home her second gold medal of the 2023 season. Aleksandra was also hit the fastest time for the women’s speed at 6.43. Indonesia’s Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi came in 2nd and achieved her second medal of the season. Coming in third to receive the bronze medal was Poland’s Aleksandra Kalucka.
  • For the men’s speed, the home favorites Raharjati Nursamsa and Kiromal Katibin both made the podium with Raharjati taking home the gold medal and Kiromal beating out China’s Peng Wu in the small final to take the bronze. The silver medal for the men’s speed went to China’s Xinshang Wang who achieved his second medal of the season.
