The May 2026 international climbing events kick off with the first bouldering competition of the World Climbing Series in Keqiao. Now in its third consecutive year hosting the opener to the World Climbing Series, Keqiao has quickly established itself as a key venue on the international circuit. The event once again sets the stage for an exciting start to the season, as the world’s top climbers take to the wall in a showcase of elite athleticism and competition.

Consistent with the 2024 and 2025 seasons, China will once again host the opening lead and speed events of the 2026 World Climbing Series, following the season’s first bouldering competition in Keqiao. Many of the same athletes will transition to Wujiang, where they will take on the lead and speed walls at the Fenhu Cultural and Sports Center, offering spectators an early look at all three disciplines as the season begins to take shape.
