Men’s Bouldering Final

The men’s bouldering final at the 2026 World Climbing Europe Series Liptovský Mikuláš competition featured a well-balanced set of four problems that tested the eight finalists across strength, technique, and problem-solving ability. In the end, Italy’s Matteo Reusa delivered a dominant performance, becoming the only athlete to top all four boulders and securing the gold medal in impressive fashion.

Reusa entered the final after placing eighth in the semi-final, which put him first in the starting order. Any concerns about the potential disadvantage quickly disappeared as he opened the round by flashing the first boulder. He maintained that momentum throughout the competition, finishing with a winning score of 99.6 points.

Joining Reusa on the podium was Spain’s Guillermo Peinado Franganillo who topped three of the four boulders and secured all four zone holds, earning 84.3 points and the silver medal.

The battle for bronze was exceptionally close, with just half a point separating the third-, fourth-, and fifth-place finishers. France’s Adrien Lemaire claimed the final podium position with 59.6 points, narrowly ahead of Austria’s Adrian Kathan on 59.3 points and Germany’s Timo Oasis on 59.1 points.

Lemaire secured the bronze medal by completing the problems in fewer attempts than his closest rivals. Under World Climbing scoring rules, each unsuccessful attempt results in a 0.1-point deduction, making efficiency a critical factor in determining the final standings.

Women’s Bouldering Final

The women’s bouldering final at the 2026 World Climbing Europe Series Liptovský Mikuláš competition was a tightly contested competition, with the outcome remaining uncertain until the final boulder. Two of the four problems—W2 and W4—proved especially challenging and played a decisive role in shaping the final standings.

W2 boulder, a demanding slab problem, stumped the entire field with no athlete managing to secure even the zone hold. W4 boulder also created significant separation among the finalists, requiring competitors to execute a highly technical dyno sequence. While some athletes successfully navigated the moves and reached the zone, others struggled to establish themselves on the problem.

The difficulty of the route set resulted in an exceptionally close battle for gold. Austria’s Jakob Rauter and Slovenia’s Neva Zajc both finished with identical scores of 59.7 points. With the athletes tied on points, the result was decided by a countback to the semi-final round, where Rauter had placed ahead of Zajc, earning her the gold medal while Zajc claimed silver.

Spain’s Gelia Macià Martín secured the bronze medal with 59.6 points, just one-tenth of a point behind the leaders. Her ability to reach the zone on the fourth boulder proved crucial, although a higher number of attempts reduced her overall score. Despite the narrow margin, Macià Martín delivered a strong and composed performance to earn a well deserved place on the podium at the 2026 World Climbing Europe Series Liptovský Mikuláš event.
