2026 Asia Championship Lead Climbing Results
On April 12th, the Meishan International Climbing Center hosted the lead climbing final at the 2026 Asia Championship, bringing an intense weekend of competition to a close. With over 200 athletes representing countries across Asia, the event highlighted the very best of the region’s climbing talent.
In the lead final, climbers faced off on towering, endurance heavy routes that demanded precise movement, strategic pacing, and unwavering focus. Here’s a look at who secured podium finishes at the 2026 Asia Championship lead climbing final.
Men’s Lead Climbing Final

Japan delivered a commanding performance in the men’s lead final at the 2026 Asia Championship lead climbing competition by sweeping the podium. Leading the charge was Neo Suzuki, who secured gold with a score of 41+, edging out compatriot Sorato Anraku in a tightly contested battle. Anraku fell just shy of the 41st hold, finishing in second place and completing a dominant one, two finish for Japan.
Rounding out the podium was Shion Omata, who claimed bronze with a score of 39. Omata was tied with South Korea’s Dohyun Lee, with final rankings determined by semifinal results where Omata held the advantage.
Women’s Lead Climbing Final

In the women’s event, Japan’s Ai Mori capped off an extraordinary weekend by claiming her second gold medal, adding the lead title to her earlier victory in bouldering. Mori delivered a standout performance, demonstrating exceptional endurance and composure as the only athlete to top the route in the final.
“I didn’t expect to win at all. I mainly train for lead, and I didn’t feel I had the level to deserve this title. I felt a bit sorry toward athletes who specialize in bouldering, that was why I couldn’t hold back my tears.” – Ai Mori, Xinhua News
South Korea’s Chaehyun Seo secured the silver medal with a strong 41+ performance, falling in the closing section of the route just before the top. Japan’s Natsumi Oda completed the podium with bronze, finishing on 34+. Oda was tied with South Korea’s Chaeyeong Kim, with the tie once again decided by semifinal standings in Oda’s favor.
