IFSC World Cup Innsbruck 2024 Results

The IFSC World Cup Innsbruck 2024 results are in after an exciting week of competitions! The picturesque Innsbruck, AUSTRIA held men’s and women’s boulder and lead climbing competitions from June 26th to 30th. Many professional climbers took to the wall to compete head-to-head at one of the final competitions before the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Women’s Boulder

IFSC World Cup Innsbruck 2024 results include to no surprise a 43rd World Cup medal awarded to Slovenia’s Janja Garnbret who topped every problem in the women’s boulder final. It was an emotional win for Garnbret as she grasped the final hold with tears of joy at securing the gold medal.

The second and third place medals went to Slovenia’s Jennifer Eucharia Buckley and USA’s Anastasia Sanders (aka Annie). They both topped three out of the four problems of the evening, so the results came down to the number of attempts which pushed Buckley ahead of Sanders.

Men’s Boulder

IFSC World Cup Innsbruck 2024 results who the Japan National Climbing Team dominated the men’s bouldering competition by taking home not only the gold medal, but also the silver and bronze.

24 year old climber Sohta Amagasa was able to stay ahead of his fellow teammates Meichi Narasaki and Sorato Anraku by topping the incredibly dynamic and fun problem #4. This victory marked his first-ever World Cup gold and very first time on a World Cup podium.

Meichi Narasaki took hom the silver with an impressive finish of three tops for the evening, followed by Sorato Anraku with the bronze medal.

Men’s Lead

Austria’s hometown favorite Jakob Schubert finished the men’s lead final at the World Cup Innsbruck 2024 event in first place with a final score of 45. Schubert lived up to his title as one of the best male lead climbers in the world as he bested his fellow competitiors by multiple holds.

Joining Austria’s king of climbing on the podium in second place, was Germany’s Alexander Megos with a strong performance but fell short of making it to hold 43.

In third place with the bronze medal was Great Britian’s Toby Roberts with a strong finish just shy of the 42nd hold. With these World Cup Innsbruck 2024 results, we look forward to seeing all three climbers go head-to-head again at the 2024 Paris Olympics as they have all qualified for the event.

Women’s Lead

Dominating the event in both women’s boulder and lead events, was Slovenia’s Janja Garnbret. This IFSC World Cup Innsbruck 2024 result was a close competition as Garnbret secured her win with 3 seconds to spare.

Also topping the final lead route was Japan’s Ai Mori with the silver medal. After a brief rest after the dyno sequece, she was able to make up it the wall with 17 seconds to spare.

South Korea’s Chaehyun Seo placed third with a solid performance that allowed her to reach hold 36. The top three climbers were the only climbers of the evening to pass the dyno sequence halfway up the route, which proved incredibly challenging for the rest of the competitors.
