The 2023 IFSC Climbing World Cup Seoul was in SOUTH KOREA where the competitions for bouldering and speed took place from April 28th to 30th. Seoul also hosting the 2023 IFSC Youth World Championships, which hasn’t been hosted in Asia since 2016 in Guangzhou, CHINA. Check out all the latest information on the event below.
Highlights from Climbing World Cup Seoul
- For the women’s speed, Poland represented the top two spots with Aleksandra Miroslaw taking home the gold medal and Natalia Kalucka taking the silver medal. Miroslaw showed an invigorating display of athleticism by achieving the fastest time for the women’s speed with 6.25. In third place, Indonesia’s Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi beat out Natalia’s twin sister Aleksandra Kalucka to achieve the bronze medal.
- For the men’s speed, Indonesia’s Veddriq Leonardo received the gold medal with the fastest run of the evening at 4.90. China’s men’s speed climbers turned up the heat this evening with Jinbao Long taking home the silver medal and Xinshang Wang getting the bronze medal.
- Japan’s Miho Nonaka got the gold medal, with France’s Oriane Bertone taking home the silver medal, and America’s Brooke Raboutou receiving the bronze medal in women’s boulder.
- France’s Mejdi Schalck stole the show with his second gold medal this season in men’s boulder. Japan’s Tomoa Narasaki placed second and Korea’s Jongwon Chon beat his fellow climber Dohyun Lee to place 3rd in his home country.
